We’re well in the thick of it now! This morning we began our rehearsals at 9am (by which time the section leaders had already had a meeting with Philip). We practiced together as a choir, then separate as sections, then altos and sopranos joined together for some more, finishing around quarter to 12. More rehearsals to come in the afternoon: practicing from 3-5pm, after which we get to watch a recording of our performance at St. Paul’s Paget, so we can recognise more of what we need to work on. This is it, folks! So now I’m taking a break to eat my lunch: fruit, vegies, nuts and chocolate, pre-purchased. I’m going to have this break so hard you’ll hear it snap!

Good luck with the rehearsals. You’ll be great! Thanks for the daily updates – great reading what you are all up to. Fi
Awesome…..you’re doing great…….chocolate. E says chocolate is no good for singers before a show……..personally….I think chocolate is good for everything…..lol. Anticipating the next post will read….CHAMPIONS……Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi.
Fascinating to hear you talk about producing the musicality of a vowel and its effect on the pitch of a note. That’s why music is described as a Fine Art – as in the distinction between fine motor and gross motor movement. Philip must be beginning to turn the screws!
i guess you guys are now in peak condition

Nothing’s been left to chance (not Philip’s style), it’s as good as it gets, so there’s no point wishing you good luck. At this stage, luck isn’t a factor.
But remember – always keep your eyes on the Dr., listen to each other and be aware of the other parts. Do what you’ve been training to do and do it with commitment and passion
The rest is down to tne judges. I hope your skills and talents will influence them positively; but above all, enjoy the experience and have fun
Go the Bass Babes!
Best wishes to Philip and all choir members. We know you will do well in the competition. Above all, enjoy yourselves and have a good time. Regards to Bongo. We hope he is not getting too homesick.
Look forward to seeing (and hearing) you soon.
